Be Safe on Social Workshop

With The Average Teen Checking Social Media Upwards of 60 Times a Day,
Do You Know How They're Using Social Media?

BeSafeOnSocial.ie are holding a social media
masterclass on November 27th in the Radisson Limerick for parents
& kids helping both understand how to stay safe online.

Clinical Psychotherapist Joanna Fortune and blogger James Butler will speak about the pitfalls, watch outs, dangers and advantages
of social media usage in pre teens and teens. Fortune will delve into the
addictive nature of screens and how social media can affect young people’s self
esteem. With this in mind she will help arm them with the tools necessary to
sustain healthy online relationships with their peers and use social media
without triggering stress or emotionally upset. James will discuss his journey
with social media, the ups and downs and how he has successfully built a career
based on his Snapchat following.

How we use social media particularly at a younger age can have implications emotionally, psychologically, socially and even on our career choices in later life.

It’s important that parents understand why pre teens & teens use social media, what they hope to achieve from it and what factors influence their decisions online.

Instead of helping them feel connected social media can sometimes make young adults feel more alone. Our workshop will teach your kids how to become a responsible ethical digital citizen with healthy online relationships.

As this is an interactive masterclass places are limited so it’s advised you purchase tickets early to avoid disappointment
